Mireille Asselin – Soprano

Soprano Mireille Asselin, who has been praised by Opera Canada for her “soprano that charms and brightens a room”, completed her Masters of Music at Yale University’s prestigious Opera Program in May 2010. She is currently a member of the Canadian Opera Company’s Studio Ensemble (COC) where she this year performs Adele in Die Fledermaus and Servilia in La clemenza di Tito. This season she also joins Boston Early Music as La Musica & Euridice in Monteverdi’s Orfeo, and sings Messiah with St. Thomas Church in NYC and Orchestra London. Former credits include the title role in Handel’s Semele (Studio performance), Contessa Ceprano in Rigoletto and First Priestess in Iphigénie en Tauride at the COC; Phénice & Lucinde in Lully’s Armide at the Glimmerglass Festival; Galatea in Acis and Galatea as well as Servilia (Clemenza) with Opera Atelier in Toronto; and numerous concert appearances across North America and in England, most notably at Carnegie Hall where she debuted singing Dona nobis pacem by Vaughan Williams in April 2011 and where she returned to give a solo recital in 2012.
